My Uncle Jeff was very ill with cancer and unfortunately, he lost his battle just before my birthday. I am very fortunate that I was able to skype him a few times since he lived very far away from me. We miss him very much!!
My 2nd birthday was LOTS of fun!! Mommy had the whole house decorated like the Mickey Mouse Club, with yummy hot dogs, mickey oreos, cupcakes, and more! We had tons of friends and family over at our house and we got to run around and play on my new playset!!! It's HUGE and so much fun!
Halloween was right behind and of course, what else would I dress up as... Mickey Mouse!! I went to the library with Laura and Layla in my costume and had so much fun singing, "Hot dog hot dog, hot diggity dog". The people there thought I was adorable! Then later that night, we went trick or treating with Uncle DD, Aunt Kelsey, and the Pucci's. Madden came dressed up too! I would run up and down people's driveways saying, "Trick or treat, thank you for the candy" before they would even give me anything. This made all of our neighbors laugh!!! What a great night!
A couple things about me during this time:
*I had just started singing songs that I heard on the radio, or from mommy and daddy. I sang "You Are My Sunshine" to Mommy every night for at least 2 months! Even now, we say this is "our song"
*Terrible 2's hasn't hit full force but there were lots of sneak peaks at this time so Mommy decided to give me choices. I actually like this and the tantrums stopped (thankfully... the corner is a crummy place to hang out!)
*I LOVE to copy everyone! For weeks, I would walk around the house calling daddy "Babe" because that is what mommy calls him. I even got caught saying, "Oh damn it!". yup I did! Guess who I got that from.....DADDY!!!
December and January were big months developmentally for me! I learned to count all the way to 20 and started "kid reading". My favorite book was my Toy Story book and mommy and daddy read it to me so often that I learned to read it on my own!! I love to read in my rocking chair! I read, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom all the time too! I'm had just started learning shapes too! I am a really quick learner!
Guess what else: I got potty trained!!! Daddy had knee surgery over winter break so since we were going to be home a lot, Mommy thought it'd be a great time. I was ready too! I had been practicing on my little potty a lot and then we decided to do it! 3 day method worked like a charm and in 3 days, I was completely potty trained, only wearing pull ups at night. I got to run around the house naked for 1 whole day (I may have peed on the floor once or twice but I quickly figured out the potty was the way to go). Then the next day, I ran around in undewear and by the third day, I was golden! Not too bad!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!! I got to wear my costume 4 times and loved everything except the hat. My mickey ears came off right away everytime!

It's potty training time. I was only allowed to hang out in the family room the first day... see me laying on the floor! That's my potty chart. I filled it right up and only had to use it for a couple days. Stickers work magic!

Mema taught me how to make cookies. My favorite part was licking off the sprinkles.
Papa taught me how to spin a dreidel. I'm not very good at it when he's not around. Good thing he played it a lot with me!

Cousins Dustin and Diana came to visit us for the New Year. What a great time we had together!!!

U of A basketball season. I LOVE going to games with my mommy and daddy. Hard telling which is the best part: the basketball or the bucket of popcorn??
