December 2011

It's almost the holidays and the chill is in the air.  We are busy all the time and unfortunately I can't keep up.  The month started off rough with a cold that made me very cranky. Then once that went away, I began having night terrors. The doctor says that these are when I am still asleep but screaming. When Mommy and Daddy come to get me, I don't know who they are or where I am and I totally freak out.  It takes me a while to snap out of it.  Let's just say, the two nights that I did this, we were all very tired!! I'm thinking that this has to do with the growth spurt I'm going through.

This month I learned how to open doors, so now I run away from everyone playing Hide and Seek, and close the doors behind me.  I think it's fun but I don't think my parents agree. I have also started testing my luck with the word "no". Sometimes I laugh when Mommy says it, but I still listen because I don't want to get in trouble.  I've also been talking up a storm! Check out some of the words I say all the time now: Mommm, Daddy, Doggie, Blankie, Ball, Bye Bye, Hi, Up, bubus (Bubbles), Hot, Oos (shoes), Benye (Bentley), Bear, Cow, OOH, O's (Cheerios) Wow.  I can say more but usually when I'm copying others. It's fun to talk now.

This month, we went to Zoo Lights and I got to see the zoo all lit up for Xmas. It was beautiful.  I also had my first real accident- I was at Aunt Roxy's new apartment and I hit my lip on the table.  My 2 front teeth went straight through my bottom lip and it was cut pretty bad.  No stitches but I was sore for a while.  I cried a little but I think it bothered Mommy more. I healed.

The holidays were a blast! We had the Harris Hannukkah Party and I learned that I LOVE Latkes! I ate a ton of them!! Then we had Xmas at Gramps house and the whole family was there. We had a blast and everyone was there! The last celebration we had was at Grandma Cheryl's house.  We had a yummy breakfast and then went outside to play with my cool new wagon.  What a great holiday season!  I LOVE the Hannukkah tree but Mommy and Daddy taught me to not go near it. I just look at it and clap!

The day after Xmas, Mommy and Daddy left me with Papa and Grandma for 3 nights so they could go with Uncle Chris and Christina snowboarding.  I had a blast with my visit. I got to hang out with Uncle Dave, Kelsey, and Nanie too! We all had a great time but I don't think we knew what was coming next. Mommy and Daddy had fun, but on the last day of their trip, Mom fell really hard and fractured her right wrist in 5 places. :(  She's in soooooo much pain!!! When they came home, Daddy did EVERYTHING for both of us. Mom should have had surgery but she wanted to do the quickest treatment. Her arm is casted all the way up past her elbow and she can't hold me or even hug me right now. It's pretty rough right now. But everyone in our family has been so amazing in helping out with the chores, and with me.
Checking to see who is watching me pull on the front door...good thing it's locked!
 Happy Hannukkah and Merry Xmas!

Fun times with Daddy in our tree

Mommy and I kiss through the banisters everyday.  I love it!
