May... Summer is here!

Is it true is it true! Is summer really here!?!  The warm weather is upon us and I know it's here which means fun times ahead!

I got my head shaved again and this time, I didn't cry quite so hard. I wasn't exactly thrilled but it was a little better than last time. I wish I could say Gramps is getting better at this but I don't think so. He's working on it though. :)

I'm still sitting in my carseat rear facing and when we're driving, I like to take my shoes off. Getting really good at it, and Mommy's trying to teach me how to put them back on. We'll see.  I love looking at the moon and calling out, "We're home" when we pull into our neighborhood. I'm such a smart kid!

This month, Mommy's friends from Sycamore came over for a BBQ. Heather's baby, Maddie came over and I got to sit with her on the grass. I was petting her hand saying, "Baby" over and over again. I was very nice but got a little jealous when Mommy was holding her for a while. I guess I a while before I need to get use to that.

Grandpa and Nonie (that's what I call Jennifer now... Dustyn taught me that) took me to a U of A baseball game so Mommy and Daddy could go out and celebrate their 5 year anniversary. They had fun and so did I! I ate peanuts and played with Dustyn and the kids in front of us. I love being outside watching sports.

I definitely have my Daddy's patience... very little! I've been saying "No" a lot and throwing short mini tantrums when I don't get my way. Mommy and Daddy have started putting me in time out. I don't quite understand it yet but I definitely know that I'm in trouble and stop pretty quickly.

I'm learning how to make choices. Mommy asks me which book I want her to read at night, and I even get to choose which shorts I want to wear. And shoes too! If give the option, I will always choose my Elmo shoes. :) I love playing tackle with Daddy too. I'm learning how to play and jump on his back. we have so much fun!!!!

At the very end of this month, Mommy and Daddy are going on a cruise and are letting me spend a long weekend with MeMa, Papa, Uncle DD, and Aunt Kelsey. We are going to have so much fun but Bentley and I will definitely miss them!

Ok Layla, if you must sit here too, I guess you better hug me!

April 2012

April is here which means, lots of holidays and fun to come. Check out what we did this month!

I had my 18 month check up with the Dr and impressed him a lot! I was counting to 10 all by myself, singing the ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle. He told Mommy and Daddy that I am very bright and to keep working with me. I have lots of teeth coming in right now. (The 4 canine's that hurt really bad! It was going well until the end of the month and then my bottom ones started to hurt a lot. I drool a ton and actually need Tylenol to sleep sometimes!)

I am still wearing size 12 month clothes but 18 month shirts are starting to fit better. I haven't gained any weight in a while but the doctor told Mommy that I was fine. AND because I'm such a big boy, I get to drink my baba at dinner now instead of before bed. We can't have food or drinks after brushing my teeth anymore.

This month we celebrated Passover. We had a great time with everyone and Papa kept the service short so we were able to eat quickly. I actually stayed up really late eating blueberries and playing with Nikki and Bentley. Ok really Bentley because Nikki doesn't like me much. She's too old to keep up with me.

For the longest time, I couldn't say Grandma and everyone had a nickname except for her. Finally I found one that works. MEMA!!! Isn't it cute! We Grandma, hope you like it because it's what I've decided to call you. hehe

Then came Easter. This was a great weekend. We had our first easter egg hunt in the backyard and Grandma Cheryl and Aunt Roxy came over. I really liked shaking the eggs and then throwing them back in the grass. Daddy and I played like this for a while and then when I picked them all up, Mommy and I sat on the grass and played with them. what a great day!

March Madness

Ahhhh Spring time is here! Daddy has been working really hard on our backyard and we finally have grass to play in. We play "Bball" (that's what I call everything with a ball!) outside together and Mommy pushes me in my swing. I am lots of fun and love to talk. I'm not really using jibberish anymore. Now it's real words! "No, yes, please, thank you, Mom, Daddy, Nanie, Papa, DD (Uncle Dave), up, close, open, and did I mention NO!?!"  That's my new favorite word.

I've always loved reading but now I have favorite books. Good Night Moon and Brown Bear Brown Bear are my all time favs. I make Mommy and Daddy read them each about 3 times each night before bed, and sometimes I'll even read them out loud when I'm getting my diaper changed. (I know the tune to Brown Bear and the animals too!) 

Bottles are no more. Sippy Cups all the way! AND I don't get my milk warmed anymore either. I am officially a big boy. Crazy!!! Speaking of being a Big Boy- I know this may be hard to believe but yes, this  17 month old can actually sing the ABC's. Mommy sings it while she brushes my teeth and between that and the practicing Daddy and I do in the car everyday, I picked it up quick. Woohoo!

So everyone has a big OOPS when learning to talk. This usually happens when someone around the baby says words that are big NO NOs. Well Mommy accidentally said F*** and what do I do? I repeated it. OOPS! Don't worry, I forgot the word right away and haven't said it since. I guess now my potty mouth moment has passed and we are in the clear. Thanks Mommy for getting that out of the way for me hehe.

Mommy had her Spring break and we spent a whole week together! We took Daddy and Aunt Roxy to the Phoenix zoo, went with Laura and Layla to the Children's Museum, hung out with Nanie and Grandma, and went to the park a lot. We had a blast!!!!

Will you be my Valentine?

What a difference a month makes? I have transformed into quite the adorable little boy. No more baby for me! This month was so much fun! I am talking up a storm and finally said MOM!!! My Mommy is sooo excited. I guess you could say it took me a long time.

I've developed quite a temper lately and have started throwing small temper tantrums. Everytime Mommy and Daddy tell me to stop crying, I stop and say, "Ya Ya". It's kinda funny but don't worry I'm going to try really hard to stop doing that because I don't like getting in trouble.

I haven't ever been interested in TV before but Layla showed me the ways... we now have a favorite cartoon, "Mickey Mouse ClubHouse".  I call it "Me Mouse".  Every Saturday Morning, Mommy and Daddy let me climb into their bed and with my blankie and baba, we lay down and watch it. I love it!!!

Valentine's day was loads of fun. Mommy took a cool picture of Bentley and I and we surprised Daddy with it. He loved it and gave me lots of kisses! That night, I got to spend time with Gramps so Mommy and Daddy could go out. We had a blast.

I'm getting really good at playing with Mommy's IPAD. There are games like, ABC's, EIEIO, Angry Birds, and even Elmo Books that I love! so much fun!!!
